ABSTRACT

The paper examines the present national and international geopolitical scenario from historical perspectives. The author attempts to show the relevance of different geopolitical concepts in the present day national and international politicsthat also impingeon the soft states like Bangladesh. Although political realism is the main grain of the paper, it, nonetheless, emphasisesonthe importance of soft power in managing the anarchicalstate of affairs of the worldtoday. The paper purports to take one’s attention to the strategies,like Multi-polarity, Reforming UN, StrengtheningRegional Institutions, Resolving the Issues of Flashpoints, Multilateralism and Strengthening Normativity etc.
