The Library and Documentation Centre is the centerpiece of the Institute's research facilities and is staffed by experienced professionals. The library is rich in its collection of journals/magazines/periodicals, which comprise leading titles of the contemporary world. It has a collection of over 10,000 books, 150 internationally reputed journals, 4000 documents and nearly 50 newspapers and magazines form home and abroad, and newspapers clippings around 150 titles on research related subjects. Cataloging and indexing of all books, documents, and journal articles are computerized.

Library Services

Reference Service: Library offers this service to the researchers to investigate the library and online resource smoothly.

Bibliographic Service: Researchers are served by bibliographies on demand.

Current Awareness Service: Library provides contents page of received journals to the researchers to equip them with up-to-date information. Selective Dissemination of Information: SDI is provided to the BIISS researchers in their specific areas of research.

Reprographic Service: A photocopier is available to xerox the limited copies of important or rare documents.

Library Users: Library mainly serves the in-house researchers, academic scholars, diplomats, and civil-military high officials.

Library Hours: Library is open from 9-00 am to 5-00 pm on Sunday to Thursday. It is closed on Friday, Saturday and all public holidays.
