Biography

Abu Salah Md. Yousuf is Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). He has completed MSS in Political Science from the University of Dhaka and MA in South Asian Studies (SAS) from Pondicherry University, India. His areas of research interests are security and securitization, securitization of refugees and forced migration, geopolitics and regional security, emerging geopolitical competition in the Bay of Bengal, state and nation building in Myanmar. He has published journal article and book chapters in the country and abroad. Some of his published articles on Myanmar are “State, Nationality and Political Elites: The Politics of Nationalism in Myanmar”, “Securitization and Ethnic Violence: Military, Monks and Rohingya Minorities in Myanmar, “Myanmar’s Peace Process under Suu Kyi: Understanding the Fault Lines” and “Between ‘Stratocracy’ and ‘Moral Democracy’: An Appraisal of Myanmar’s Political Transition under Suu Kyi”.
