Biography

Ms. Moutusi Islam is Research Fellow at Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). Her research interests include maritime security, blue economy and Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). She is currently conducting a research titled “Bangladesh-India Maritime Cooperation in the Bay of Bengal: Bangladesh Perspective”.

She has participated in a significant number of seminars and conferences on her area of research at both home and abroad. She was nominated as the focal point of Bangladesh in the “Indian Ocean Rim Academic Group (IORAG)” - the academic organ of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) - by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and has represented Bangladesh at IORA thrice- Jakarta in 2016, Durban in 2017 and Delhi in 2019. She also represented Bangladesh in the “Indian Ocean Dialogue (IOD)” in Padang (2016) and Delhi (2019).

Ms. Moutusi completed her Honours and Masters from the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka. She has been serving at BIISS since September 2015.
