BANGLADESH INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL AND STRATEGIC STUDIES

To commemorate the 27th SAARC Charter Day, the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) organised a Seminar on SAARC and its Future on 23 December 2012 at BIISS Auditorium, Dhaka. Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, graced the Seminar as the Chief Guest. The Seminar was presided over by Ambassador Q A M A Rahim, Former Secretary General, SAARC Secretariat. Major General Muhammad Imrul Quayes ndc, psc, Director General of BIISS delivered the Address of Welcome. Professor Ainun Nishat, Vice Chancellor, BRAC University, Dr. Mahfuz Kabir, Senior Research Fellow, BIISS, and Ambassador (Retd) C. M. Shafi Sami, Former Foreign Secretary presented three papers. Scholars, members of academia, policy makers and diplomats participated in the Seminar.
