Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh, organised a Seminar on “Bangladesh and the Emerging Plurilateral Trading Arrangements”. The Seminar took place at the BIISS Auditorium on 16 September 2015. Mr. Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Cabinet Secretary, Government of Bangladesh graced the Inauguration Session of the Seminar as the Chief Guest. Major General AKM Abdur Rahman, ndc, psc, the Director General of BIISS delivered his Welcome Remarks at the outset of the Seminar. Ambassador Munshi Faiz Ahmad, Chairman, Board of Governors, BIISS, with Inaugural Remarks, moderated the Inauguration Session. A Wrap-up Speech in the Concluding Session was given by Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Foreign Secretary, Government of Bangladesh. Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Secretary to the Honourable Prime Minister, Government of Bangladesh delivered his Concluding Remarks at the end of the Seminar. The Concluding Session was moderated by Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, ndc, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh. In between the Inauguration Session and the Concluding Session, the Seminar continued with three working Sessions. Scholars, members of academia, policy makers, former and current government officials, members of diplomatic corps as well as representatives from development partner organisations participated in the open discussion sessions. They highlighted various aspects related to Bangladesh and the emerging plurilateral trading arrangements.
