The Palestinian problem has remained a central concern for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation since its inception, with this article providing a comprehensive analysis of OIC engagement with this issue during the early 1980s. The research begins by examining the historical context of OIC involvement in the Palestinian cause, tracing the organization's evolution from symbolic solidarity to more substantive political and economic support. The analysis explores the institutional framework for OIC Palestine policy, examining the roles of the Islamic Summit, Council of Foreign Ministers, Jerusalem Committee, and specialized agencies in coordinating member state positions and actions. The article investigates OIC diplomatic strategies, analyzing how the organization advocates for Palestinian rights in international forums, builds coalitions with other regional groups, and engages with major powers on Middle East peace issues. The study examines economic dimensions of OIC support, assessing financial assistance to Palestinian institutions, development projects in occupied territories, and economic measures against entities recognizing Israeli control over Jerusalem. The research evaluates the effectiveness of OIC initiatives in influencing international policy, examining both achievements in raising global awareness and limitations in changing substantive outcomes. Based on the comprehensive assessment, the article identifies both strengths and weaknesses in OIC approaches to the Palestinian problem and proposes strategies for enhancing the organization's effectiveness in supporting Palestinian rights. The findings provide valuable insights into how regional organizations can address protracted conflicts and contribute to understanding the relationship between religious solidarity and international political action.
