BIISS

The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) operates under a robust legal framework that ensures compliance with national laws and international norms. Established by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in 1978, BIISS functions as an autonomous statutory institution under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its mandate encompasses conducting research, providing policy advice, and facilitating dialogues on national and international issues related to security, diplomacy, and strategic studies.

BIISS adheres to the principles of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations. The institute's legal foundations are rooted in the Constitution of Bangladesh, relevant statutory laws, and the regulations set forth by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These legal instruments guide BIISS in fulfilling its objectives, including undertaking studies, disseminating knowledge, and assisting the government in formulating and implementing policies.

In addition to its national legal obligations, BIISS engages with international legal frameworks, fostering cooperation and exchange with global think tanks, academic institutions, and policy-making bodies. This engagement ensures that BIISS remains at the forefront of global strategic studies, contributing to informed decision-making and policy development in Bangladesh.
