Colonel A H M Yeaseen Chowdhury, M Phil, PhD is a Research Director at Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). Colonel Yeaseen was Sector Commander of Border Guard Bangladesh before assuming this incumbent assignment. He joined Bangladesh Army with the 32 BMA Long Course and was commissioned on 16 June 1995 in the Corps of Artillery. He achieved a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from National University of Bangladesh, Master of Business Administration with Major in Finance from University of Dhaka (MIST), Master of Philosophy (M Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He also obtained a two years long Diploma on Supply Chain Management from International Trade Chamber, Geneva, Switzerland and completed a short course on Total Quality Management (TQM) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He attended Artillery Company Commander Course at Nanjing Artillery University, China. In his long career in the army, he served in command, staff and instructor capacities. He commanded Ruma BGB Battalion (9 BGB) and Nildumur BGB Battalion (17 BGB). As a staff officer, he served as General Staff Officer 2 in DGFI and Artillery Center and School. He was an instructor in Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and Assistant & Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business Studies of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). In UN mission, he successfully served as Platoon Commander of BANBAT-7, Liberia and as COB Commander of BANBAT-2/14 (MONUSCO) DR Congo. Colonel Yeaseen is happily married and proud father of one daughter and one son.
