Lam-ya Mostaque is a Research Fellow at BIISS. Her research interest is in international politics, looking at it from the perspective of a scholar of a developing country. Hence, she focuses on issues related to development policies and non-traditional security. In the past, she has worked on SDGs, climate change, ocean policies and violent extremism. Her current research interests include energy geopolitics and politics of renewable energy, with special attention to developing states and rising powers. She has done M.S.S and B.S.S from the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka. She was also awarded the Australia Awards Scholarship 2023, under which she completed a Master of Environment Degree from the University of Melbourne.
Conducted research on Violence against religious minorities and indigenous peoples. Co-facilitated eight different Focus Group Discussions in four different parts of Bangladesh
