Director General of BIISS Participated in the 13th Think Tank Forum (TTF) of CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia)

BIISS delegation Major General Iftekhar Anis, BSP, awc, afwc, psc, Peng, Director General and M Ashique Rahman, Senior Research Fellow participated in the 13^th Think Tank Forum (TTF) of CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia) from 9-10 September held in Baku, Azerbaijan organised jointly by Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), Azerbaijan and Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS), China at Hilton Hotel, Baku. The theme of the Forum was “Resonance of Development and Security: Regional Cooperation and Governance in Institutional Transformation of CICA.” Major General Iftekhar Anis, Director General, BIISS and head of delegation made a presentation on Regional Cooperation for Enhanced Security Governance in Asia in Session 1 titled Promoting Security through Development – Exploring New Approaches to Asian Security Governance. Mr M Ashique Rahman, Senior Research Fellow delivered a presentation on CICA as a Mechanism for Capacity Building for Enhanced Security Governance in the Region in Session 4 of the Conference titled CICA as an International Organization – Transformation and Capacity Building. BIISS as a member of the 22-member CICA Think Tank Forum participated in the Forum. Dr Farid Shafiyev, Chairman, AIR Center, Azerbaijan, H E Mr Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General, CICA and Chen Dongxiao, President, SIIS, China delivered their remarks in the inaugural session. The Forum was attended by delegation from other think tanks of member countries as well as local participants that included academics, scholars, researchers, business community and members of the diplomatic corps.
