MRM 19 February 2025- Shanjida Shahab Uddin & Md. Nahiyan Shajid Khan

The Monthly Research Meeting (MRM) is an integral component of the research culture at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). It functions as a dynamic internal forum where researchers present their ongoing work for rigorous peer review and constructive discussion. This process is fundamental to ensuring the high quality, accuracy, and policy relevance of the institute's intellectual output. The meeting on 19 February 2025 will showcase the current research of Shanjida Shahab Uddin and Md. Nahiyan Shajid Khan. Each researcher will present their topic, outlining the core arguments, methodological approach, and preliminary findings to their colleagues.

The value of the MRM lies in the interactive dialogue that follows each presentation. Fellow researchers, from senior directors to junior officers, are encouraged to challenge assumptions, question evidence, and offer alternative perspectives. This collaborative scrutiny helps presenters to identify weaknesses in their arguments, refine their analysis, and consider new dimensions of their topic. The subjects covered in these meetings are diverse, spanning the full spectrum of strategic studies, including but not limited to regional security architecture, economic diplomacy, climate security, counter-terrorism, and developments in international law. By fostering this environment of open intellectual exchange, the MRM not only enhances the quality of individual research papers but also strengthens the collective analytical capacity of the institute, ensuring that BIISS remains a leading voice in strategic analysis in Bangladesh and the wider region.
