MRM 26 May 2025- Mahbubur Rashid Bhuiyan & Md Nahiyan Shajid Khan
This session highlights two themes that matter for policy work in Bangladesh. The first talk scans regional security signals that can affect shipping, energy, and cross border investment. It proposes a basic watch list and discusses coordination routines that help agencies share updates quickly and act in step. The second talk examines export competitiveness through the lenses of quality, delivery time, and compliance. It reviews practical measures that reduce hidden costs for firms, such as risk based inspections, one stop digital windows, and early engagement with buyers on standards. The discussion draws on practitioner input from logistics, finance, and standards agencies. Speakers provide short case notes showing how small tweaks in process design can save time and money without heavy spending. The meeting ends with three takeaways. First, clear roles and timely information improve responses to external shocks. Second, predictable and simple rules support firms to move up value chains. Third, steady measurement builds confidence and keeps reforms on track. Participants leave with an action checklist and references for follow up.
