MRM 28 April 2025- Moutusi Islam & Muhammad Mazedul Haque
The April meeting brings two practice oriented studies. The first paper reviews social protection targeting with the aim of improving coverage and value for money. It summarises lessons on data verification, grievance handling, and delivery channels, including mobile transfers and community validation. A simple diagnostic helps agencies check which step of the delivery chain needs the most attention. The second paper looks at investment climate basics that reduce uncertainty for firms. It emphasises transparent rules, consistent application, and available support services such as testing, certification, and dispute facilitation. Examples from the region illustrate how incremental changes can attract higher quality investment and create better jobs. Both presentations emphasise measurement and iteration. Participants discuss how to maintain integrity in beneficiary lists, how to coordinate across ministries, and how to communicate new rules so that firms understand what is expected. The session ends with recommended actions for the next six months and a compact monitoring sheet that tracks progress by outcome, not just by activity. The approach is practical, collaborative, and geared to steady improvements that citizens and businesses can feel.
