The Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) hosted a Country Lecture titled “Bangladesh–Nepal Ties: Towards a New Height” on 20 April 2025, featuring H.E. Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh, as the distinguished guest speaker. The event highlighted the growing multidimensional partnership between the two South Asian neighbors, emphasizing collaboration in trade, energy, connectivity, culture, and education.
Speakers underlined the long-standing historical and cultural linkages between the two nations—rooted in shared geography, civilization, and spiritual traditions—and celebrated recent milestones such as the Nepal–Bangladesh power trade and the expansion of pharmaceutical and transport links. The lecture also explored future opportunities in hydropower, manufacturing, ICT, and scholarly cooperation.
With participation from diplomats, academics, policymakers, and media representatives, the discussion reaffirmed that Bangladesh and Nepal are poised to elevate their ties towards a comprehensive partnership built on mutual respect, regional solidarity, and a shared vision of sustainable development.
